Researchers in Canada are currently investigating a needle-free injection for cattle. This system involves delivering vaccines or antibiotics transdermally rather than under the skin via a needle as is the current practice. This is a break-through for the beef industry as this technology could eliminate problems such as injection site lesions, broken needles & the spread of some diseases. Research is continuing to determine the best time of year & ideal site of application for this technique to work most effectively.
