Our hearts go out to all of those affected by the recent flooding in eastern Australia. While we have seen many images of the devastation caused to cities and towns the damage to farms has also been extensive. Biosecurity QLD says exact livestock losses from the floods are still hard to assess as many farmers still can not access their stock, but the general feeling among graziers is that the losses are going to be quite significant. Large areas of crops have also been destroyed or severely damaged but again exact figures may take weeks to determine.
